we were all relieved when we were told that the cafe was going to close for the winter. No more prepping for burgers, and fish plates! Though Aoka will miss the giant 70 lb jars of mayo:) A big thanks to Manu, Josh, Auntie V, Casey, Happy, Wes, Kim, and all of the farmers and fisherman who helped the Hana Grill be a success for the summer. It certainly taught us a lot. And I think we all look at Mayo differently after seeing it in 30 lb jars;)
Oh, and unfortunately some people shy away from the camera- but must be especially thanked. Manu- you were such a big part of Hana Farms. thank you for all that you gave while you were here. The sweat lodge, drum-circles, your amazing little home you built out of found materials (it is still standing believe it or not!), and all of your philosophical conversations into wee hours of the morning! We look forward to hearing about your wanderings across Asia.
AND...Sweet Wesley Walker. What can I say. You inspired ALL of us here. From your arrival...biking all the hundreds of turns and one-lane bridges all the way from the docks at Kahului to Hana! To your discipline- and insatiable hunger to learn and run, and reach your highest potential each and every day. Sometimes I wonder if you are in fact real... Thank you for being such an amazing man. For your strength, and honesty. Thank you for stopping in and being a part of the farm before heading to Australia. We look forward to you coming back on your way home (whenever that is). It is amazing that most of the people that land here are the wanderers...the dreamers, and artists, musicians, and poets, all of us searching- and unafraid to follow our hearts. I hope that this blog serves as a way to keep us all in touch through all of our wanderings. And that Hana will always have a place in your hearts. Everyone who has been a part of Hana Farms has changed it in some way- and yeah....i know i am sounding like a big hippie right now, but hey- we really do love all of you. Thank you for being a part of the hana farms family. You all have a home here.
