The road to Hana

Unparalleled beauty, 617 hairpin turns, and 57 one lane bridges- is all that separates us from the rest of the world. Hana is certainly a journey not just a destination. Don't be in a hurry to get here, take the time to pull off the road and explore one of the many waterfalls, and bamboo forests along the way. And, be a kind tourist, pull over for the local cars/trucks....there is only one road- and many of us need it to get back and forth from work, school or even the hospital- so thank you for being conscious of this. Tourists that come here with a consciousness of the people. the culture, and the land are so appreciated.

you forgot to mention that the road can be so so scary- and bring ginger or dramamine to take because I got so car sick on the way to hana. and always pull over for the local cars- it is just safer than feeling pressured to drive faster than you are comfortable with. other than that, it is beautiful.
