Less than one mile away is the beautiful black sand beach- Waianapanapa state park. The caves, and the entrance to the kings trail.
3 miles away is town center, and the hike up to the cross to see a view down to Hana Bay. Waikoloa, Red Sand beach, and great snorkeling are just a short hike away.
A few more miles down the road, or one of my favorite walks from town takes us to the Oprahs beach, Koki beach (where the good surf usually is), and Hamoa beach.
Waioka pools (Venus Pool) is a breathtaking walk along the coast from Hamoa.
Worst question ever asked by tourists is
"What is there to do out here?"
A LOT!
